60 ft Cancun Reef Dives

Eax-4.jpg

Cancun is home to some of the Caribbean’s most colorful reef systems, and our 60 ft (18 meter) reef dives give you the chance to explore them in detail. At this depth, you’ll encounter larger coral formations, dramatic swim-throughs, and a rich variety of marine life. Expect sightings of angelfish, parrotfish, lobsters tucked into crevices, and often turtles or stingrays gliding by. Visibility regularly exceeds 80 feet, making these dives perfect for both photography and relaxed exploration.

These reef dives are a step beyond the shallow coral gardens, offering a slightly deeper profile that’s comfortable for new divers yet still exciting for experienced ones. With warm water, mild currents, and guidance from our PADI 5-Star instructors, you’ll enjoy a relaxed pace in small groups, ensuring plenty of bottom time and personalized attention.

Many of our Open Water students complete Day 2 of their course on these same reefs, which means certified divers can often share the boat while still enjoying their own guided dives. This makes it an ideal option for couples, families, or friends traveling together at different certification levels. Whether you’re logging your first dives as a new Open Water Diver or adding to a long dive log, Cancun’s 60 ft reefs deliver a safe, fun, and memorable underwater experience.

Cancun Wreck & Reef Diving

AOW-Gallery-hero-1-6CErZaDD.jpg

For divers who want a little more excitement, our Wreck & Reef trip combines the thrill of penetrating a sunken ship with the beauty of Cancun’s natural reefs. Sitting in about 80 feet (24 meters) of water, Cancun’s wrecks are home to swirling schools of barracuda, jacks, and snappers, along with the occasional eagle ray cruising by. Penetrations are limited to open, easy-access areas, making the dive suitable for advanced-level certified divers who want to experience the feeling of exploring a ship beneath the waves.

After the wreck dive, the second tank takes you to one of Cancun’s deeper reefs, where you’ll drift along coral walls and sandy channels teeming with marine life. Expect sightings of turtles, moray eels, groupers, and schools of colorful reef fish as the gentle current carries you across the reef. With excellent visibility and warm Caribbean water, it’s one of the most memorable dive days you can have in Cancun.

This dive profile is also used for Day 2 of the PADI Advanced Open Water course, where students complete their Deep and Drift adventure dives. Certified divers are welcome to join the same boat, making it easy for friends or family at different training levels to share the trip while still diving according to their certification. With our PADI 5-Star instructors leading small groups, you’ll enjoy both safety and adventure on this two-tank dive.
